This talk explored the interaction between fish and the turbulent wakes generated by marine hydrokinetic (MHK) turbines, using a combination of laboratory experiments and large-eddy simulations (LES). We analyzed fish trajectories, behavioral responses, and turbulence characteristics to better understand how flow structures influence fish navigation and habitat use. The findings provide insight into ecological impacts of turbine deployment and support the development of environmentally responsible marine energy technologies.
